Our hope is that we have created a site where we help you get a better night’s sleep. Our aim is to provide tips, information, support and practical suggestions. We will look at what works for people in general, and why. We look at what is considered a normal sleep pattern and how things tend to go wrong. What are the common sleep problems, and some of the less familiar.
Our site considers what keeps you awake, from the foods we eat, the lifestyle we keep and the all so familiar stress which so many of us take to bed. Hopefully we can give you some support as to what to try first, where to go for advice and intervention both in terms of alternative options such as dieticians, cranial osteopaths, homeopaths etc and what the more medical sleep centres and sleep experts can do to help.
We look at sleep for different age groups, and sleep options to maximise your REM sleep. We will look at how sleeping pills work, and how to get off them. We review each of the general remedies on the market such as Valerian and discuss Melatonin which is a natural option available via your GP. For those of you who are interested in getting into the detail we will look at the science of sleep, the different stages and why we dream etc. For partners and suffers we give tips as to how to stop snoring (other than kicking).
